WiFi Connection IssuesUpdated a month ago

When troubleshooting WiFi issues, the first step is to ensure you have a strong WiFi signal and clear access to your router. There are two different GMG apps available:

For the GMG Prime, Prime Plus, and 2.0 version grills, we recommend using the GMG Prime App.

Check the Antenna and Antenna Wire:
If your grill does not connect in the Prime app, there may be a problem with the antenna or the wire that connects the antenna to the controller.

ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG YOUR GRILL before you start looking over any parts.

Start by unscrewing the antenna to check for any damage or loose connections. If the antenna appears to be fine, you should inspect the cable running from the antenna to the motherboard. To do this, disconnect the power and remove the two 7mm bolts at the front of the control panel. This will allow you to take the control panel off the hopper box and examine the grey wire leading from the antenna mount to the circuit board.

If the wire has twisted or broken away from the board, it will need to be reconnected or replaced. This can occur if the front brass antenna screw is not properly tightened, causing the cable to twist and detach from the connection. To order a replacement wire, please contact [email protected].
