The Grill is Making a Clicking NoiseUpdated a month ago
At times, the wires beneath your hopper assembly can shift and obstruct your combustion fan, leading to unusual sounds. Additionally, the auger and auger motor may produce noises that require attention.
ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG YOUR GRILL before you start looking over any parts. Here’s how to address these issues:
- Check the Wiring: Inspect the wiring underneath your grill, particularly around the combustion fan. If you see any wires blocking the fan blade, gently move them out of the way. This should eliminate any clicking sound.
- Examine the Motor and Gearbox: If your grill is making a clicking noise and the auger isn’t functioning, it’s likely there’s a stripped gear in the gearbox. In this case, the auger motor will need to be replaced. Auger motors can be purchased from HARKBBQ.com or email us HARKBBQ with any questions.
- During Operation: It’s not uncommon to hear occasional clicks or knocks from your grill while the auger is rotating. This is normal as the auger pushes pellets through the tube. However, if the auger stops operating entirely, it may again indicate a stripped gear in the gearbox, necessitating replacement of the auger motor.
